Tropical Cyclone Winston was the biggest cyclone ever to hit Fiji. In fact, the category five cyclone brought winds of over 300km/hr and was one of the most powerful ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere. The death toll currently exceeds 40 and widespread damage and destruction to homes and infrastructure has been reported.
In the aftermath of Cyclone Pam, Fiji Red Cross provided essential relief items to those in need here in Vanuatu as well as logistical and overall support to Vanuatu Red Cross.
